This policy describes what happens to information when you use drytally.com and the DryTally app. The short version: there are no accounts, no advertising and no analytics; what you log stays on your own device; and the app collects no data.

Who is responsible

Why this matters for drinking data

Information about how much someone drinks can be sensitive, and in some countries it may count as health-related data with extra legal protection. DryTally is built so that this information never reaches us: the tools and the app work on your device, and we have no server that receives your log.

The website

What you enter in a tool

The calculators and counters run in your browser. The numbers and dates you type are used on your device and are not sent to us. Some tools put their settings in the page address so that a link can recreate the result; if you share that link, the settings in it are shared too.

What the browser remembers

The alcohol tracker and the alcohol-free days counter keep your log in your browser’s local storage on this device (the two pages share it). The alcohol unit calculator keeps the list of drinks you entered in the same way. This data is never sent to us. You can remove it with “Erase my log” or “Reset” on the page, or by clearing site data in your browser. We set no cookies.

Server logs

The hosting provider (Cloudflare) records standard technical data for each request (IP address, time, page requested, browser name) for security and to keep the site running. These logs contain nothing from your tools, because nothing from your tools reaches the server.

Email

If you email us, we receive the address and the message you send and use them only to reply and to keep a record of corrections. Please do not send your drinking log.

Advertising, cookies and visit statistics

The site shows no advertising, sets no advertising or analytics cookies and loads no analytics or advertising scripts. If that ever changes, we will update this policy first.

The DryTally app (iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android)

The DryTally app is operated by SKYSEED TECH LLC, like this website. For any privacy-related inquiries, please contact support@drytally.com.

Your log stays on your device. The days, drinks, notes and settings you enter are stored in the app’s private storage on your device. They are not sent to us or to anyone else. The app collects no data from you, and the store privacy answers (Apple’s App Privacy label, Google Play’s Data safety form) say so. The app is built so that its data is left out of the automatic iCloud and device backups of your phone. Deleting the app removes the data.

No account, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking. The app has no user account and contains no analytics, crash-reporting or advertising code. It does not track you across apps or websites. It does not use Apple Health or Health Connect.

Backup file. Backup is manual. When you export a backup, the app writes one encrypted file using a passphrase you choose, and you decide where it goes (Files, a cloud drive you already use, email to yourself). We never receive it and cannot open it. If you lose the passphrase, nobody can open the file again, including us. Keep the file and the passphrase safe: anyone who has both can read your log.

Notifications and lock. Reminders and milestone messages are scheduled on your device and never come from a server. The Face ID or fingerprint lock is handled by your device’s operating system; the app does not receive your biometric data.

Purchases. Pro is sold as a yearly subscription (with a 7-day free trial) or a one-time lifetime purchase through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google processes the payment and tells the app on your device whether Pro is active; we do not receive your payment details, and the store’s privacy policy applies to the purchase. The app has no purchase server of its own. You manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account or in Google Play.

Links and email. Links in the app (this privacy policy, the terms of use, our website) open in your browser. If you write to support@drytally.com, we use your message only to answer you.

Age. The app is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and the app collects no personal information at all.

Because we do not receive your log, we do not process it and have nothing to give, correct or delete. Data you hold on your device or in your own backup files is under your control. For the little we do process (email you send us, and server logs kept by our hosting provider), our legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering you and keeping the site secure. You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of personal data about you, to data portability where it applies, and to complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office). US state privacy rights (CCPA and similar laws)

Residents of California and some other US states may have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, to correct it, and to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, and we collect none through the app or the tools.

Children

The site and the app are not directed at children under 13 and the app is for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Retention and security

Server logs are kept for a limited period for security. Email is kept only as long as needed to handle your message. The site is served over HTTPS.

Changes

We will change this page if what the site or the app does changes, and update the date below the title.
